Founded by Belinda Gillies and Karen Rudd in 2009, our interior design studio has over the past five years developed a reputation for excellence. Our main service offerings include professional office design and layout consultation and commercial office development according to client requirements.
The office design and layout process entails an initial free-of-charge meeting and questionnaire to help us identify your particular requirements and vision. We use the information to get a clear understanding of your company’s organisational structure and the connection between departments. We assess your requirements for areas such as reception, meeting rooms, AV and boardrooms.
The initial assessment is followed by the office design and layout phase, in which we collect the current plans of the building and related office areas. We use the plans in support of the new design and submit proposals for functional solutions. Our team also provides you with samples of finishes and we make furniture recommendations according to the specific business environment.
The next phase entails the presentation, in which we present the completed design proposal that includes a 3D visual of the design and furniture to help you gain an overview of how the new office layout and design will look. You will also be able to get a feel for the finishes, such as floor, wall and general décor. As part of the presentation, we provide a sample board to display the various lighting solutions to complement the final design and layout, and also discuss electrical and data layouts relevant to the project.
The presentation is followed by the implementation phase, wherein we submit the designs for quotations and consult with various specialists to complete the project. Our team manages the implementation and ensures that all work carried out meets the best possible standards. We also address the issue of security by making use of our own consultant or your preferred supplier. Fire approval is done and followed by the move management phase. This ensures hassle-free relocation and a completed site where your employees can start work immediately.
More about the FoundersBelinda and Karen have attained their qualifications from the prestigious Greenside Design Centre in Johannesburg. Belinda started her career in interior design and built an extensive network of contacts within the industry and started Ruslin Space Planning in 2004 to provide space planning layout drafting services. Karen started her career through the designing and custom building of furniture. From there she moved into retail sales and eventually corporate interiors. Ruslin Interior Architects came about and today provides a complete office design and layout project service to small, medium and large corporations in South Africa.
